Spring Break is about 30 days away. In an effort to make your life easier, I have compiled a list of camps offering sessions the week of March 12-16th, 2018. While the list is not exhaustive, it provides quite a variety of options. I have focused in particular on including camps in different areas in or near Austin, with a variety of price points, and on full-day camps as much as possible, in addition to providing some options for little ones.

Please note, the following is provided for informational purposes only; the information is accurate and true to the best of my knowledge, but there may be omissions, errors or mistakes, and no guarantees are made.

North

Camp name: All-Star Sports Camp

Details: All-Star Sports Camp gives campers the opportunity to learn teamwork and sportsmanship through a variety of fun team-based games and activities. Camp activities include soccer, kickball, basketball, flag-football, capture the flag, arts and crafts, ultimate frisbee, dodgeball, bounce house, volleyball, wiffle ball, obstacle course, splash day, and more! Activities vary slightly between locations.

Area: SoccerZone Lakeline (920 Old Mill Rd., Cedar Park, Texas); also South location on Manchaca (see South section below)

Available dates: 3/12/18-3/16/18

Camper ages: 5-14

Hours: M-F, 8:30am-4:30pm, extended care until 5pm for $25/wk

Camp name: Camp Doublecreek Spring Break Camp Session

Details: Camp Doublecreek features horseback riding, all kinds of sports, miniature golf, baby animals, arts and crafts, archery, tennis, tumbling, a playscape, and many other games and activities. 

Area: Round Rock (all campers arrive and depart from the campus by bus; camp transportation is available free of charge from 13 locations around Austin)

Available dates: 3/12/18-3/16/18

Camper ages: 4-14

Hours: M-F, 7:30am-5:30pm

Cost: $305/week (includes horseback riding lessons)

Camp name: Fantastic Magic Camp

Details: Teaching life skills and confidence through magic, juggling, and puppets. There will be daily magical performances by professional magicians, and other skills including balloon twisting and unicycling. 

Area: 7500 Woodrow Ave

Available dates: 3/12/2018-3/16/2018

Camper ages: 5-12 (campers are grouped by age and experience)

Hours: 9am-3pm (early drop off [8am] and late pick up [6pm] options available for an additional fee)

Camp name: Jump! Gymnastics Spring Break Camp

Details: Beach week – Gymnastics, yoga, art, science and games!

Area: North Austin, 2117 W Anderson Ln

Available dates: 3/12/18-3/16/18

Camper Ages: 3 (must be potty trained) through 12 

Hours: Regular camp is 9am-3pm; extended day is 9-6am (for additional fee); and 8am drop off is available for an additional fee, as well

Cost: $270/week (9am-3pm); $350/week for extended day (9am-6pm). 8am drop off $50/week. 10% sibling discount. $60 Lifetime Membership Fee if you are not already a member of Jump!

Camp name: Mad Science Spring Break Camp, Yuckology

Details: Mad Science camps are designed for exciting, fun hands-on science activities. Your child will become a junior scientist for the week, having the opportunity to experience a variety of science adventures. Spring break daily camp themes include Cell City; The Organ Trail; Scene of the Crime; Chemical Counting; and Radical Reactions.

Area: Northwest location, Hope Presbyterian Church, 11512 Olson Drive (Near Hwy 183/Anderson Mill Road intersection)

Available dates:  3/12/18-3/16/18

Camper ages: 6-12

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-4:00pm (drop off your child as early as 8:00 a.m. for no additional charge, and arrange late pick up as late as 6:00 p.m. The late pick up option costs an additional $75 per week per child.)

Camp name:  Zach Theatre Spring Break Camps, Zach North Campus, Broadway Kids: Beauty and the Beast (grades K-2) and Hogwarts: Triwizard Tournament (grades 3-5)

Details: Grades K-2 - Students will act, sing, and dance while learning material from the hit Broadway musical, Beauty and the Beast. This camp is sure to be an active and fun introduction to the world of Broadway! Grades 3-5 - Get your brooms ready! Students will be immersed in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter by preparing to compete in the Triwizard Tournament. It's bound to be a magical week of camp!

Central 

Camp name: Austin Nature & Science Center (ANSC) Spring Break Camp 

Details: Ages 5-6: Travel underground in a wild cave and discover new habitats. Test your patience and reflexes by looking for minnows in our pond. Dig for the prehistoric fossils from all over Texas in the Dino Pit.  Ages 7-8: Test your building skills, craft a kite and watch it soar. Don’t let your egg fall to pieces: create an egg drop machine! Explore the Zilker Preserve and find out who lives in the Austin wild by looking for tracks. Hone your archery skills and set your sights on a fun week of camp! Ages 9-11: Explore the Splash! Exhibit before embarking on a trek in the Barton Creek Greenbelt. Challenge yourself during a bike ride on a paved trail at Govalle Park. Take a break on the ride to search for fossils! Campers must be able to ride a bike with their camp group for three to five miles without adult assistance.

Camp name: Snapology STEAM camp at the West Austin Youth Association, 314 Exposition Blvd (see below in South section for more information)

 

Camp name: Zach Theatre Spring Break Camps, Broadway Kids: Beauty and the Beast (Waitlist currently)

Details: This Spring Break Camp is an active and fun introduction to the world of Broadway musicals. Students act, sing, and dance while learning famous Broadway material from Beauty and the Beast!

Area: 1510 Toomey Road; near downtown Austin

Available dates:  3/12/18-3/16/18

Camper ages: Grades K-2

Hours: 9am-4:00pm (extended care available for an additional fee; early care begins at 8:30 a.m. and after care ends at 5:30 p.m. Early care not available on the first day of camp.)

Details: Dive into in the world of Harry Potter, get sorted into houses, visit Ollivander’s Wand Shop, tour the school grounds, and prepare for the Triwizard Tournament.

Details: Creative Action offers a wide variety of high-quality, creative, and engaging camps that empower campers to envision and create their own art—all while promoting social and emotional development. Fun, hands-on activities.

Camper ages: Ages 5-10; grades K to 5th

Camp name: Thinkery at the Meredith Learning Lab (home campus)

Details: Thinkery Camps offer hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) as a platform for innovation. Each weeklong program offers a variety of fun mental and physical challenges that activate campers’ creativity. Campers at Thinkery’s home campus have the opportunity to learn through Thinkery exhibits every single day. Think Austin (Grd 1-2) at Thinkery: Engineer machines to help you build sky-high structures, draw inspiration from local artists and create a colorful graffiti wall, and explore some of Austin’s most awe-inspiring scientific and cultural innovations. Camp includes a field trip. Think Austin (Grd 3-5) at Thinkery: After exploring Austin’s history and geography, tackle creative challenges both large and small. Fix the Capitol’s dome, create a brand-new skyscraper to dot the city’s skyline, investigate the Hill Country’s famous bluebonnets and experience the hands-on science happening in our hometown. Camp includes a field trip.

Camp name: Rio Vista Farm and Tack Shop Spring Break Horseback Riding Camp 

Details: Do you know some horse crazy kids? We’ve got the solution. What about a horse camp? Beginners receive a good foundation from which to continue their riding experience, and more advanced riders have the opportunity to improve their skills.

Area: East, 1000 Fallwell Lane, Del Valle, TX. Van service is available to the first 14 campers enrolled each week ($35.00 weekly van fee). Van picks up and drops off from Westlake Hills at the Michael’s Shopping Center (located at the corner of Bee Caves Road and Walsh Tarlton). Pick-up is at 8:40 a.m. Drop-off is at 4:20 p.m.

Camper ages: Girls and boys ages 7-16. No prior riding experience is necessary. Children are divided into riding groups based on their riding skill level. 

Hours: M-F, 9am–4pm (w/ van transportation, pick-up is at 8:40am. Drop-off is at 4:20pm)

Camp name: Snapology Austin, STEAM-focused Lego camps

Details: Snapology Austin provides a fun and safe environment for children ages 4-14 to learn math, science, technology, engineering, art and literacy concepts using LEGO® bricks and other building tools.  

Area: Several locations in South/SW and CW Austin: Spring break camps will take place at the Circle C Community Center (SW; 7817 La Crosse Ave), Snapology Discovery Center (SW; 1910 Fort View Rd.) and West Austin Youth Association (CW; 1314 Exposition Blvd).

Available dates:  3/12/18-3/16/18

Camper ages: 4-12 and 8-14

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-4:00pm (with extended day and supervised lunch included, the day runs from 8:30am to 5pm)

Cost: Each session is $175 ($350 total for the full, regular day from 9am-4pm). A $50 deposit is required for each camp at the time of enrollment. Deposits are non-refundable. 8:30am drop off is available for an additional $25 per week. 5:00pm pick up is available for an additional $50 per week.

Camp name: YMCA Spring Break camp

Details: YMCA Spring Break camp will be available from five locations in March for children ages 5-12. Camp is open from 7:30am-6pm each day and will include a field trip, two days of swimming, and tons of enrichment activities. Registration opens February 12th.  

Area: East Communities YMCA (map), Spicewood Elementary (map), and other locations in south Austin, Buda, and Manor.

Available dates: 3/12/18-3/16/18

Camper ages: 5-12

Hours: M-F, 7:30am-6pm

Cost: $178/wk for YMCA of Austin members; $213/wk for nonmembers

Drop-in Care

Name: Kid Spa

Areas: North location - Avery Ranch/Parmer Lane and South location - Circle C/Slaughter Lane

Available dates: Open every day of the week, except Sundays 

Ages: 18 months to 12 years old

Hours: Mon.-Thurs. (7:30am-10:00pm); Fridays (7:30am-12:30am); Saturdays (9:00am-12:30am)

Cost: $9.00/hour (reduced rate special offered when purchasing blocks of hours). Rate is per child, but time may be shared within a family. There is a one-time registration fee of $30 per family. Registration required for first time visit.
